The Morris Slingluff Memorial Golf Tournament

The Morris Slingluff Memorial Golf Tournament will be held  on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail – Highlands Oaks Golf Course.

It is a 4 person scramble. Lunch begins at 11:00 a.m. with tee off at noon.
There will be cash prizes for low gross and low net, a $10,000 Hole-in-one, a “Ball on the Green” drawing for a set of Michelin tires, and much more!

Silver Wings Golf Course Memorial Day Flag Tournament

Join us at Silver Wings Golf Course for the Memorial Day Flag Tournament on Monday, May 27th.

Tee time is 7 – 9 am. Cost is $10 entry fee plus green & cart fee if applicable.

A valid USGA handicap is required for participation.

The flag that goes the furthest wins!

You will receive a flag with your name and target score.

Target score is determined by taking 100% of your handicap and adding it to par.

Prizes will be awarded based on number of participants.

12th Annual Lake Fest At West Beach

The 12th annual Lake Fest at West Beach, Lake Tholocco, May 18th from 12 – 6 p.m.

We will be kicking off the summer with this celebration with a day of games, swimming, vendors and inflatables!

We will hold a Sandcastle Contest and Volleyball Tournament.

Free use of life jackets, canoes and paddle boats will keep the party going all afternoon!

Admission is FREE and open to the public.

So, escape into paradise and join us at West Beach on Fort Rucker for fun in the sun! Open to the Public.

Come out to McLeod’s EVERY Tuesday and Wednesday night for Singer-Songwriter night!

We have a full PA system including a monitor and mic/mic stand that wants to get used!
You don’t have to be in a band or playing gigs.

If you own a guitar and want somewhere to play, original or cover, come out and play it for us!
All you have to bring is your guitar and guitar cord and yourself of course!

It’s A Tea Party At The Southeast Alabama Medical Center

Put on your spring dress, sandals/ heels, and top your outfit off with a hat!

Wiregrass Talent Quest Media Kickoff

The Cultural Arts Center will begin its second quest for talent with a media Kickoff Monday, May 13 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cultural Arts Center.

Several local performers from last year’s Quest will be available to talk about the event and to perform.

The Quest will take several months to complete and details regarding the timeline and applications can be found on the Wiregrass Talent Quest facebook page, the Cultural Arts Center facebook page, and on the www.theculturalartscenter.org website.

The Life and Work of the Honeybee

With the help of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Landmark Park is offering your students a fascinating look into the world of the honeybee.

Three different learning stations will be set up to explore honeybee communication and life cycle, honey production and harvesting, pollination and the hive environment.

This program will provide the opportunity to watch a beekeeper work a real hive of bees and taste the freshly gathered honey.

$6 per student; teachers/aides FREE; one chaperon per 10 students FREE.

Homeschools  must register through the group coordinator.

Program Length: 3 hours (9 a.m.-noon) Suggested Grade Level: 2nd-12th. Preregistered school groups only.
